good morning! it's my turn again for papertrey ink's make it monday and this time around i'm challenging you to take out your patterned paper and die cuts. it's time for a little pattern play with die cut silhouettes...
inspired by artwork i've seen with animals, boats, and people created from patterned fabric or paper, often with or against another contrasting patterned background, i thought it would be fun to translate this to the mini canvas of cards.
with a die to cut every stamped image these days, you're sure to find something in your collection that will be perfect for this. i kept coming back to the simplicity of this balloon! the floral balloon really pops against a more simple, smaller scaled background pattern.
once i started making cards, i couldn't stop. give me a clean and simple technique and i'm all over it. with patterned paper, you can get great pops of color without markers or paints. gotta love quick and easy. and coffee!
of course, when it comes to silhouettes, these man and wife dies were a must do! i went for a neutral color story - classic and elegant fit for any new bride and groom. what will you come up with?
check out the video, dig into your patterned paper collections, and link up over on nichole's blog. i can't wait to see what you create...
happy die cutting!
