pink 4 october + gal to gal

 

once again, i can't believe it's already thursday--where has my week gone?!  i've been wanting to create and post this card, go pink for october and start the virtual walk for breast cancer since monday, and i finally squeezed it all in this afternoon.  i've been hard at work on various pieces and parts for an event this weekend and a few other printed invitations, so stamping has been rushed or not at all.  busy, busy!

anyway, going pink on my blog to bring attention to breast cancer awareness month inspired me to create a pink card to kick it off, which was perfect for the current amuseaddicts monochromatic challenge.  the actual design came to mind because of the gal to gal virtual walk, hosted by design-her gals.  i've gotten their newsletter for a while now and i thought the virtual walk was an easy and innovative way to make a difference.  and voila! my pink gal walk for hope card was born!  and speaking of the walk, for a minimum $3 donation, you can join too.  look me up if you do--i'm in a light blue jogging suit with my hair in a ponytail.

yoo-hoo!

 

here's another owl card to bridge the gap between my halloween cards and christmas cards over at the a muse news blog.  when i picked my guest designer stamps, i chose the owl with the owl-witch-broom design in mind--plus i think it's cute!  and since owls are "in" right now, i also wanted to use it to create some cute generic fall cards.  this one fits that bill--with yoo-hoo! on the outside, this card could work for several different occasions.  it would be great for a basic hello card as is, or i can finish it off inside with happy birthday or lets get together.  i love having cards like this in my stash!  stamps, paper and ribbon are all a muse except for the "moon" (su! barely banana) and sentiment (karen foster snap stamps).  the owl and branch are stamped and colored directly on the moon, which is chalked around the edges with golden yellow shimmer chalks for depth and interest.  i love shimmer!

rockin' halloween

 

round three of my a muse guest designer series was posted on the a muse news blog today and the "rockin' holiday" one reminded me that i'd wanted to create a halloween version.  again, so many stamps, so little time--i had several ideas that just didn't come together soon enough to send in!  at least it left me with some ready to go ideas to play along here.  so, for today, a quick halloween concert--and this time, rock star has back up singers!

thanks again for all the sweet comments over there, too.  i've been so extremely busy over the last week, that i've hardly had time to reply much.  but i do love sneaking on over to see how julie describes the cards and what everyone likes!
