a friend's father is turning 80 and she and her brother and sisters planned a family reunion celebration this weekend, including a party for their dad. i was asked to do the invitation and given a variety of art pieces, photos and information to include. the idea was to have a greek theme with new orleans touches. my two favorite elements are superimposing mr. kritikos' head on the crete man inside and adding the pelicans from the louisiana state flag to the back of the roof. even though i was given the artwork to use, this invitation was definitely a fun challenge! kind of like stamping, i had to fit the different images and elements together like a puzzle. i also created a few other bits and pieces that were used to decorate the party last night. rather than make this post too long, i'll share those tomorrow.
