it's been a busy weekend here in new orleans--three crawfish boils in two days! i did manage to squeeze in a little late night/early morning stamping and created a few cards to share, but i'll show a little restraint and not post them all at once!
while waiting for the new papertrey ink set to be revealed last night, i decided to use the words set--the only one i currently own--and for this card in particular, i wanted to use it exclusively without any other stamps. what a challenge! but i'm pleased with the results. the flower is created around various punched circles--the green layer from the papertrey ink packaging (!), the next one from a clothing show mailer (design possibilities everywhere!) and the small flower stamped green on another green scrap, punched inside and out to see the brown peeking through the center. the flower petals, leaves and grass are all stamped with the various flower centers/circle stamps in the set. for the grass, i lined them up evenly on the acrylic block for quick stamping. the clear stamps were also great for placing the petals and curving the stem. to balance the grass, i added the strip of blue ric rac for sky, and to polish the flower, a tiny jewel and a few strokes of stardust on the petals and leaves. i wish i could steal more time for this kind of playing, but at least i still have a few more cards to post during what promises to be a busy week ahead...
enjoy!
